Privacy Policy — Product Intelligence

Last updated: July 2026

Overview

Product Intelligence is a merchant tool for Shopify. It scans the product catalogue of your store, produces data-quality and trust scores, and returns recommendations to help you improve your product data. This policy explains what information the app accesses, what it stores, and who it is shared with. The app is provided by Phenom Digital Limited (the "app provider").

Information the app accesses

With your permission at installation, the app reads product information from your store through the Shopify Admin API, including product and variant titles, descriptions, prices, barcodes and GTINs, product and image metadata, SEO fields, product status, and metafields. It also reads your store's domain and plan. The app requests only the access it needs to function (product read and write).

Information the app stores

Information written back to your store

The app writes its results back to your own products as metafields (for example Trust Score, Trust Report, AI Search Readiness, and Verification Confidence) so your team can see them in Shopify. This data stays within your store.

Customer data

Product Intelligence does not collect, process, or store the personal data of your customers. It works only with product and store data.

Third parties we share data with

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. To provide the service, we share limited data with the following processors:

Data retention and deletion

Uninstalling the app deletes your session data and marks your shop record for removal. On receipt of Shopify's shop/redact webhook, all remaining shop data is permanently deleted. The app also supports Shopify's customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks; because no customer data is held, there is no customer data to return or erase.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Developer API keys are stored only as secure hashes, and access to stored data is restricted.

Your role and rights

You remain the controller of your store's data; the app acts as a processor on your behalf. You can disable features, revoke API keys, and uninstall the app at any time to stop further processing and trigger deletion as described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
